One of the main reasons why we decided to set up the FireUp Sports, was that we identified in Central Portugal, the region where we were born and raised, several sports infrastructures able to provide the best conditions, for high performance training! Tokyo 2020 Olympics proven we were right!
Rebeca Andrade, 2020 vault Brazilian Olympic champion, moved to Central Portugal, choosing the Anadia High Performance Sport Centre to prepare her Olympic participation.
The Colombian Anthony Zambrano, 400 m Silver Medalist in Tokyo 2020, was another athlete who has chosen Central Portugal and the Luso High Performance Sports Center, to prepare his Olympic participation.
Rebeca and Anthony weren´t the only athletes choosing the Central Portugal and its facilities to prepare Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Dozens of National and International athletes chosen this destination in different sports such as:
Swimming
Coimbra Swimming Olympic Complex
According to the highest swimming training standards, the Olympic Swimming has a fantastic 50×25 meter olympic swimming pool, with a depth from 2m to 2.25m, 10 tracks, underwater windows, dressing rooms, press rooms, gym, massage and first aid rooms.
This swimming complex it is available for swimming, synchronized swimming and water polo. Located in Central Portugal main city and UNESCO world heritage, Coimbra is without a doubt, one of the best cities in Portugal for swimming.
Judo
Coimbra Universitary Sports Complex
Here it is possible to practice several indoor sports – judo, futsal, hockey, volleyball, handball, basketball, badminton – as well as tennis, rugby and football, lacrosse, field hockey and among others.
Located in Coimbra, Central Portugal, 2 hours from Lisbon and 1h30 from Porto Airport, you only need a short walk to find everything you need like. Without a doubt, Coimbra is one of the best sports destinations in Portugal!
Canoeing
Montemor-o-Velho Canoeing and Rowing Elite Training Center
The excellent facilities and features available in Montemor-o-Velho located in Central Portugal, continue to attract worldwide athletes all year long. With 2000 meters length, 135 meters wide and 3,5 meters deep, the course has a cooling down and a warming up channel, a cycle path and a technical area to support the training. The structure includes hangars, showers, bathrooms, sauna, turkish bath, jacuzzi, gymnasium and polivalent rooms.
